Did he jet off over the horizon on jet powered pilot boat whilst trying to light the afterburners?????

Or has he been sucked into the jet intake jamming the impeller thus proving that jets can get fouled??????

I think I am going to have to post my own 'jets' thread if he doesn't show up soon.

I just can't be arsed...

Oh... please do... We can discuss pro's and con's...... I'll contribute with counter arguments for wonderful things like sharp, lethally cupped cleaver props (with or without trailing edges) from various surface drive solutions.......

Actually do think that Jets are interesting propulsion alternatives, but may not be the best ones in all speed ranges and hull shapes....

Perhaps we can start to define "the perfect 50 ft boat for leasure use"

We could get Learner to analyse all the inputs in and Excel Spreadsheet with some nice histographs and the odd scatter diagram....

Great stuff. However, I would prefer a radar diagram as it's easier to see if the performance / feedback matches the pre-set criteria (as defined an manipulated by us as the discussion and preferences evolves). No need for a baseline for the study, we'd just end up with facts and no room for personal preferences and lose the ability to change our mind as it pleases us....
