...when they came up with this.

Whilst I can understand something along these lines having it's attractions in the Med, I really can't see who would go for it in Soton. On top of that I'm irresistibly reminded of the 1990s? Audi advert that was basically saying we're not BMW, but without the ironic ending.

Though for those who know it, it does illustrate well the fact the OV is basically a dock in the middle of an office park - I don't think that car moved more than 300 metres.

So they charter boats by the hour to hotel guests ? Honest question.

Would like to see him check the oil and bilges in what he is wearing !

That's not what this is advertising (though one could easily think so), but I think that the hotel did have a day boat available on that sort of offer for a time, but I'm not sure that it lasted.

You must be joking.
I can't for the life of me imagine anyone in the Med attracted by a video where the protagonist walks like Stan Laurel and proudly helms a Jeanneau while watching a Mangusta 130 moored nearby, as the proverbial fox with the grapes... :ambivalence:

Haha! I just watched it and you are right on the money with Stan Laurel :D
What a terrible terrible video. Cringetastic.
I noticed the gusta 130 too. I was very surprised- I have never seen such exotica in southampton and that awkward inconvenient berth is just about the only place you can park such a machine in south coast UK.

That media glam BLX was a joke. FWIW, before I moved out earlier this year, that boat "Rumour has it" was always moored opposite my boat, not in OV but in Shamrock Quay, a mile up river and half the mooring fees. To get there by road, make your way through numerous car breakers yards, and if you need to resupply food and drink, be sure to avoid the route to the nearest supermarket, the road favoured by the local hookers.

I couldn’t quite believe what I was watching! One thing for sure I am not in their target audience whatever that might be :)

Not to mention the Invicta wrist watch, probably worth 100 quid or so. What else could a man of taste pair with his 150k+ electric car...? :p

Hmm, well, my wrist watch only cost 30 squid when I bought it 20 years ago, and I only wear it when I need to. Stainless steel not gold so if I get robbed, I've lost nothing. No need to complement my boat.

Edit: car, not boat :-)

Absolutely nothing against cheap watches as such, and fwiw I don't wear any wrist watch - ever.
I mentioned that only because it's somewhat out of place in a video clearly targeted at selling a glamorous and luxurious lifestyle.
Nothing else! :)

PS: nope, I can't remember to have seen 'Mean Girls'. Happy to be enlightened!

The Mangusta 165 is of course, the owner's second boat, the bigger one being based in Malta, the shine being rather taken off by the legal documents prominently taped to them for non payment of debts including crew wages. You obviously haven't been in Soton much recently as there have been several IMHO better yachts in and out of OV over the summer, but then again I'm not exactly impartial.
