What to look for on a 1998 Sealine F410/43.................

We were going to look at this boat but the broker didn't get back to us.

The pictures look pretty good and 10k should see you right to replace all of the electronics and most of the exterior upholstery.

Had to smile at this bit, as having refitted a similar boat all be it to a very high standard , leather internally and good quality fabric externally
New covers + nav gear you would need to double that figure and add some , but maybe we are more particular than others :)

Have to agree with comments so far they were are a very good craft,

She is fitted to a high spec! :D we are about to replace the covers, sticking with the red theme but going a bit darker this time.

Good choice Rob, nice to see something a bit different to the usual dark blue.

Hope you can find a buyer for the right price.

Any chance you could post/email some pictures of how your snap davits are fitted. Have some for our boat but a bit unsure of the best place to fit them?

Andy

Raymarine ES 97, 18" HD Radar, i50 x 2 inc transducers just over 5k, saloon seating won't be more than 5 k even with leather. We replaced the saloon and cockpit seating on a S37, leather interior and current fairline Mouvida Beige fabric externally for 4 k ?

Sorry to resurrect this thread if it was supposed to rest in peace. Just a few questions about the aft cabin of the 390/410/F43, so maybe something for current or former owners

How much headroom is there in the walk-able part of the aft cabin? And in the shower cubicle?

The cockpit and its bench arrangement seem unsupported over a large area. Does it flex when walked upon? How thick is the deck partition and is it a sandwich construction or..... something else?

Thanks for any info

Standing headroom in cabin and shower is fine for me at 6ft

The deck is no more unsupported than over an engines space or similar. if you look it is constructed using curves on the vertical and horizontal planes which lends it inherent strength

Dont know about the construction, but I suspect it will be a sandwich as this also strengthens at the same time as reducing weight

I am 6' 1" and I had to stoop a bit when moving around the aft cabin of my 410 and the entrance stairs and doorway were a bit tight too. Agree with Whitelighter on the shower and toilet. IIRC the headroom was slightly better in these areas because the floors were a bit lower. I don't remember the cockpit flexing at all. I don't know what it's construction is but very likely it is a cored construction which is quite normal for grp structures above the waterline. The aft cockpit/aft cabin arrangement on the 410/F43 is a compromise but IMHO one worth making because of the huge amount of extra space and privacy the aft cabin adds to the boat

My head brushes the ceiling lining in the walk round section and I am 5'11, my head also brushes the lining over the bed if I sit straight up, the doorways are also a fraction tight but as Mike says a very slight compromise and one that is well worth making for the extra space that you gain everywhere else.
The cockpit sole does not appear to flex at all but the floor area is only the width of a double bed and that has rounded bottom corners.

Can I add that: some F43/410's ( like their bigger sisters T51, F42-5, F46 etc ) were fitted with the upgraded Cummins/Mercruiser QSB 5.9 Engines. Slightly more fuel efficient than the Volvo's and a bit like Ford cars - every town has a mechanic who can fix them. I ran them in my Sealine and never had a minutes trouble. I now have them in my Fairline - don't know why Sealine didnt just charge a little extra and fit the Cumins as standard much less to go wrong and far cheaper to service etc. As for the fly-deck being left open for a while - I would have thought that a FULL wax polish for a boat that size would be around £500 and would bring her up like showroom. Don't let the 410/f43 thing put you off - they are the same boat. I had my 410 for 5 years and have only happy memories. I can recommend them immensely, the rear bedroom is just something you don't get on other boats that size. If you would like to know more I'd be happy to help. Mike
