First make sure you are not a stinky or a flappy but enjoy just being on the water.
so mate says any chance of a help taking the yacht (bav 310) from Plockton to Inverness , so we set off firstly down to Tobermory and after a night in the Mishnish sorry no pics ????then up in the morning for the rest of the crew and of to the caley canal, i did surface but not until 14.00h /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif and i cant think why /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
and so the pics start
up the sea locks at corpach and into the caley canal
then up Neptune's staircase upwards and onwards the weather was fantastic no wind ?
just before loch lochy you go along laggan ave one of my favorite stretches of the cally
This made me laugh the lock keeper had posted this and had obviously had enough come September
Sunset over the locks at Fort Augustus then Loch Ness looking up to inverness and back to Fort Augustus , we didn't quite make caly marine as one of the swing bridges were playing up, however every cloud has a silver lining and it meant i was free to get home to Plockton whilst we still had a high pressure over NW scotland.
So i phoned a few mates at short notice and set of on my own boat for a wee jaunt out west , on the way these guys also joined us in the inner sound off Rhona
Can you guess where we got to yet ???? if you look at the bay and enlarge you might just spot the boat (Help please Brenden)
Sorry sight of the Spingdale that came to grief here a few months back. i did hera a story why but will await the results, thankfully no lives were lost. It was a 15 hour steam at 8knts to get out here and when we came into the bay at 03,30hours in the pitch black we shone the search light on to the coast only to pick out the wreck in the dark i can asure you it sent a shiver through me when it light up.
After three attempts at setting anchor she finally dug in although i did have to go quite far out into the bay to where it shelves off at the 20 meter contour, by that time it was 04.15 .
We did have a look in the Puffinn and was pleased to see our scribblings on the roof, a reminder of my last trip out here 2002 in last boat a sealine f37 ,
Oh and the must wake shot
back on the mooring in plockton yes we did have a drink
What a week /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Cheers Annan
