My work machine used to use this: http://www.verdonet.org.uk/stuff/DSCN2791.JPG . I took it specifically to use as the background on the cover of a photo-book, so it doesn't have a big central subject to obscure the contents of the desktop which, like Gordon, I dislike.

Taken from the crosstrees on Stavros somewhere between Gibraltar and Madeira.

Beautiful pics, Lakesailor. I never used to envy anyone, so far from the sea...but now...

Pete, that empty horizon's fun too. Is there any way of getting a live image from some good spot like the top of the Spinnaker Tower, as a desktop pic?

Extra fun if one could dial-in the direction the camera would point in. Matter of fact, I'd pay a few quid a month, for that. Any techie-software brain out there, looking for a trendy new application to make money from?

Remember, you read it here first!! (Don't tell me, it's been around in California since the 'nineties...)

This is the same colour and type as my pocket rocket. It is my dream to get it running like this, it has the potential!
can you guess what it is yet?

I try to change mine about once a fortnight...it makes switching-on each time, so refreshing.

I run Windows 7 so mine changes every 15 minutes but is usually a pic of sailing or some other activity I've done to remind me I should be outdoors :)

Mine is a photo of my late wife taken at the Goodwood Revival. I love to see her smiling face every time I switch on the computer at work.
We only knew each other for just over 4 years and married 18months when she tragically died in an accident that very nearly killed me.
So that is why the boat is named after her - Lady Fiona of Rye. Rye was her favourite place.

Very sad, but a great way to start every day.
