Am replacing a FW pump on friends boat - 33' long, supplies galley and heads taps, cold water system and hot water via engine calorifier with small accumulator. Usual 1/2" bore pipe work etc. Simple stuff.

Question - what size of pump should I be looking at? Say 4 liters per min, or nearer 8? Pressure 1 bar or nearer 2?

Cheers!

I would suggest 8 litres and 2 Bar, just learnt my 36' with 2 showers and 3 sinks needs 17 litres & 2.5 bar.

I've bought a Seaflo from EBay. Looks to be good value, 1/2 the Jabsco price.

What is the current pump specs? Not as much boat size, more important to count number of outlets.

Look for at pump that is compatible with the exisiting system design (pressure switch inside pump or external), mounting, fittings etc.

Check the pressure relief valve setting on the calorifier. You don't need more pressure than the setting of the valve or it will blow off. You will end up turning the pump pressure down.
Usually you don't need more than 2bar regardless of number of outlets.

Thanks - but that is the problem, having declared the old pump as failed, it was removed and binned in preparation for a new one, so all data lost!
