OK, guess its that time of year when all the RYA training questions start to appear so here is mine:

I've done the Powerboat stuff and got the ICC a couple of years ago, did my dayskipper theory last winter and want to do the yachtmaster theory this winter to keep me busy. But what about the practical side of things?

Would prefer to do own boat tuition but we've got an S23 - is this big enough to do own boat tuition for dayskipper or even yachtmaster? or am I better off using school boat? Just think that twin engine handling skills might be wasted on me until we upgrade to something bigger.

Cheers

Really depends on where you see your boating future I suppose. If you only every see yourself on one type of boat then thats the one to train on.

Personally I have no intention of ever going back to twin engines so I will make sure all my future training is on singles.

I can't see that the size of your boat would be a problem for dayskipper certainly.

Now lets wait for all the professional trainers on the forums to shoot me down in flames! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Depends on how fat/big DaySkipper and YachtMaster are /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Thanks for that.

So any trainers on here (or anyone can recommend) that do own boat tuition in Solent area? (boat based in Port Solent).

Cheers
