I happen to have an old log book from 1990 with me, and have found the following:
HW Oban 0845, 2108. 0.7 - 4.0m.
1235 Weighed anchor Bagh nam Glen Muc. (Pig Bay, Jura)
E through the Corryvrechan with the last of the ebb, then W through the Grey Dogs at about slack water.
1345 Anchored in the bay on the W side of Scarba (to climb up the hill on Scarba to see the Corryvrechan from above).
1815 Weighed anchor. Back through the Grey Dogs against the flood.
1850 Anchored Poll nan Corran, Lunga.
(note, the shallow patches, marked on our chart 2326, at the bay W of Cruach Scarba, are wrong. The shoal nearer the bay has much less water over it than shown, and the swell was breaking on it. Couldn't see the outer, supposedly shallower one).
Has anyone here been in that bay, and can shed any light on my note to myself?
