Given the almost universal adoption of roller furling for genoas, we can assume that any yacht get most servce from its main and r/f genny. But what other sail sees most use on your yacht.

For the record, on Indigo it's a number 3 on an inner forestay, which replaces the r/f genoa if it's blowy.

Gaff cutter, so a bit different, but it is definitely the tow foresail, so I voted for "lightweight genoa", that being the equivalent.

The topsail, and the small jib, get about equal use - both less than the lightweight genoa.

\"Other\"

Being a a bit of a Luddite, I don't think these new-fangled roller furling thingies will ever catch on. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif We have two foresails hanked onto two forestays, invariably the genoa and No.1 jib. So even when we have the Genoa up the jib is "seeing" daylight. A smaller jib is for F7 or more, and hasn't been used in over 2 years. The spinnaker gets used once a season, max., and as far as I can make out is over 40 years old.

Re: \"Other\"

This being our first season with the boat we are still finding out what works best. I switch between the R/f Genny and a R/f working jib. I think the genny is a bit knackered though as it will not set too well close hauled, a bit baggy, its great on a reach though. Therefore the working jib is getting a lot of (get this) work!

No 4 jib on inner forestay (put it down as other)

I think you need jib on inner forestay on your list of options as other is currently getting 22%.

I like it because its such lovely colours. I've no idea how to use it. I keep it in a sausage skin when its not being used. I am 6 this year, and I have been a good boy.

Have just spent three months sailing in the Ionian - Downhill from corfu to peloponese we were very idle with just the #1 Genny, then main and genny uphill coming back. Mizzen not used. Mizzen staysl never used as its in the garage.
My excuses are crew shortage (wife & I), and sheer lovely relaxed idleness, and a disinclination to spill my drink.
I am sure the Solent Saturday warriors will be appalled!
