What price will this Centaur fetch

With four days to go on the auction, I'd expect it to reach twice the current bid. (£4600) Not a bad price even so. Although the engine might not be up to much, it's got a spare one which could be used to replace broken bits.
 
On eBay most of the bids come in the last half hour. Its like any other auction in that, once the auction finishes, the highest bid is committed to buy.

Depends how hard you want to make it. I did mine with battens in an afternoon's easy pottering for a total cost of about a tenner. Some people like to make work for themselves.

Incidentally, the "modern" foam backed vinyl is exactly the same as the original & has a life of 10-15 years before the plastic foam turns to powder. My cheapo battens have been in place longer than that.

I bet Dylan paid less and got a beautiful example. I like Centaurs but I can't understand why they fetch such ridiculous money when they need so much work.
