What price red diesel?

Have I missed something.
I thought "they" were only talking of pumping up the price of our diesel (pun intended)
I paid 60p per litre this weekend.
It was 47p in July and 34p last June.
If the revenue haven't put the tax up, who's getting the extra?

Phone any of the oil suppliers in your area for a price for RED or agricultural diesel - you will get your eyes opened as to the mark-up placed on the fuel by some Marinas

Doubt if you will find a farmer willing to resell you red - they do not have a permit to sell fuel.

Also is th e cost worth it? double handling of the fuel, transporting it to the boat etc. Easier to get it direct from the oil suppliers - some even sell it by the barrel (with a surcharge for the barrel)

There was an article on the news a couple of weeks ago, something to do with the demand for diesel has increased a fair bit, there are limited refineries in europe who are struggling to keep up with demand - hence diesel is now more at the pumps than petrol.
 
Heard that the price of a barrel in January was forty something US now it is sixty something on the open markets and rising.

The main reason seems to be China, India etc increasing in living standards.

Nice to see but surely engine size restrictions for cars and boats must come so we can all share it ?

Think yourselves lucky you do not have to pay the full price like any other diesel user! Make the most of it while you can, your cheap fuel is coming to an end.
 
So someone tell me why you pay more for diesel in St Peter Port than you you do here in the UK? I cannot remember the exact figure but in July fuel was about 3p a litre dearer in SPP than MDL Northney. When I challenged the guy about the price he proudly told me, "it's because we have no VAT out here". Hello! I said, you are MORE than UK, "Ugh, cant be", he replied in total disbelief. Talk about rip off!
 
Yup - Boatworks is a complete rip off (and be sure to check they've zero'd the pump too - heard a few occurances of that not happening). If you're taking mobo quantities, its much better to meet a tanker at St Sampsons and get it considerably cheaper.
