Before we got to SIBS we debated how many people who go to the Boat show actually own a boat. We both guessed a percentage and they were VERY different - so what do you think ???

I would have guess about the same as you or slightly less, say 55-65%

Depends how you count it, does'nt it. If I go with my wife and kid, do we all own a boat or just me? Technically, its just me so thats only 33%. My feeling is that you get a lot of tyrekickers especially at the weekend. So, in the strictest sense, I doubt whether its more than 20% of visitors who actually own a boat

We also had the same thought while visiting the SBS last week. The Solent Forum shows there are about 25,000 - yes 25 thousand - boat moorings in the Solent area. That is from Chi to Keyhaven inc IOW and Southampton. I guess that most visitors to SBS would be interested in the Solent for boating. I dont know what the number of visitors was but it sure was a lot more than 25,000.
