Avocet's mast and boom are original. (1972). That might not be so remarkable, but so are the sails! Jeckells of Wroxham. About 15 years ago, Mrs Avocet and I wandered on to the Jeckells stand at the boat show with our hank-on genoa in a holdall and asked if they could convert it to roller reefing. The bloke's eyes nearly fell out of his head! Anyway, they did the work, and 25 years on, we are STILL using the same sails! I've had the UV strip on the genoa eplaced this Winter, and the main is a bit baggy in the foot, but yeah,basically, they're still doing the business!
Engine is still doing well - that's a BMW D12 from 1989, so not quite as long-lived as the OP's!
