What paint for Mariner outboard?

I have a mariner outboard 2.5hp which instead of buying new ,thought I might repaint as it starts and goes well, know this is against todays throw away society but would appreciate any help with which paints to use, it seems to be aluminium in the main.

You can get the right stuff in aerosol cans from your local Mercury / Mariner dealer.

being aluminium you may have to apply a primer first, well first after cleaning, de greasing then sanding and cleaning again.

Check you local boat yard or sales outlet and ask who does their paint repairs and talk to them.

I found a pretty closs match for the correct colour in a car paints section at Halfords at about half the price of the genuine stuff - seems to last just as long.

Take it to bare metal,Zinc primer and then paint.

There's ebay sellers selling the correct paints.
