Actually, thinking back, these did provide a bit of forum fun. Recently it only seems to be JTB who loses vital boat parts over the side (or confesses to do so, anyway).
I would be delighted to start this again if I had anything exciting to ask, but seems I haven't. So has it been a comfortably easy season for all, or are there any WNS out there?

gigm , plenty as I am on the water all the Time as a 'semi pro' but we had an 'incident' this Summer
I had a Bass on the line, really strugglin to net the Bugger and swmbo was onboard and was moanin about Her ingroin toe nail and her back pain
She was really strugglin and writhin about
But the Bass was strugglin too and so was I He was a big bugger
I had Him nearly in the net at least a 10 pounder, then swmbo fell, I mean I just needed Her to hold the landin net fer gawds sake.
I ask the Peeps

What would you do about it?
So a Skipper is in the Mire, what would One do?

Not understanding the interest in fishing, this is reasonably easy for me. Short term gain against a life of recriminations.
You will have to go for the fish ;)

Yes, definitely the bass, you'd never forgive yourself (or forget) for losing the big one!! As for women, there are plenty more fish in the sea :D
 
The bastid Bass was landed and I got a Slap!
Not by swmbo but by said piscatorial sea creature
As er indoors had managed to net the Beast but could not summon the strength to 'land' the fish
I stood on her in growing toe nail (you gits!!) and then She yelped and the shock raised her right arm and the Bass hit me in the fissog!
The hook fell out, the Bass was 'bassing' about on the deck so I dived on it and rendered it dead like
swmbo was between laughing and crying as I attempted the termination
Then as things became more normal, swmbo said 'what would you have done if I fell in after you made me grab the net then stood on me ingroin toe nail' cos that ow we say it Welshish when yer busy
'dunno ' I said 'Hard Choice
Oh and that's when the second Slap arrived
Forgot about that!
