If you were to buy one new thing to assist your liveaboard life in 2008.... what would it be ?
(Apart from a different boat !) /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

lets set a limit (just for fun!) of 1000 gbp...

I think for us, it would be an ACMO boom furler (and probably will be..)

I have a friend who has a brand new in boom furling system and a mainsail for a 36ft boat.
He bought it and never fitted it he keeps asking me to put it on ebay but i need to go and collect it and get some pictures first.

Just phoned him and it's a sailtainer

Three serious suggestions that we have bought - all electrical gear - and all of them have two uses.

1. Small George Forman grill - also used for making toast.

2. Small Wet/Dry Vacuum cleaner - that blows as well as sucks. Gets the bilges perfectly dry and blows out blocked lines and pipes.

3. An electric pressure cooker with electronic temperature control so it doesn't make lots of steam - it can also fry when the gas runs out!

Our boat should be called "Amps R Us".

Hookah or scuba so you can maintain your bottom without hauling
Solar
Diesel or petrol generator (as appropriate)
Watermaker (but might not be easy in your budget)
