What is this ?

Prop in a very expensive 'smokeless' fire pit...

Dammit

I had the props re-hubbed last season because they were slipping.
That worked until weekend before last, when the starboard side started slipping again.
I always wanted a boat with Stainless Steel Props, but not necessarily as a distress purchase.

The Volvo Dealer said it would be a shame to put them underwater on the boat, and suggested mounting them in a glass display case instead.

On Freecycle quite shortly: two knackd G4 propellors.

Have ye souls in heaven too,

If you are going from G-Series to H-Series you need to buy new spinners because the rear propeller has a longer hub.
An improvement is that the spinner now has a section of Nyloc on the inner thread for quite a few turns at the end, so even if it loosens off, it's a lot less likely to fall off completely.

The only question in my mind is why it's taken so many years for Volvo to make propellers like this for DP-H drives.

My US colleagues swear by these fire pits, thoughts?

Update:

Fire Pit Furnace

I followed the instructions, but probably put in too much wood.
The result was an incredibly hot pillar of flame about 1m across and 2m high.
Everyone had to retreat to a safe distance so as not to melt eyebrows.
Very little smoke, as advertised.

After about an hour or so, it died down enough to toast marshmallows.
For the first hour, it could have been used for smelting ore.

If Frodo had access one of these in Lord of the Rings, the story would have been a lot shorter.
