Hi all, can anybody put a name/type to this primary fuel filter?
Just acquired a 1985 Jeanneau and not seen this type before!
I apologise for my ignorance in advance of some information!

I might be very wrong but, if the black button pushes in on a spring, it might be a type of automotive lift pump on top of a primary filter.

I have a similar looking thing on my 20 year old Talbot Express.

My guess is a Racor spin on filter with priming button.

Thanks everyone.
Anybody know how to prime it?
Presume i loosen the out pipe and pump untill i get clean fuel, do any of you think i can pump to the lift pump with this and slacken off there?
Thanks!

Yes, I would expect it to prime the lift pump. Slacken the connector on the suction side of the lift pump, prime from the filter until fuel reaches it. You should be able to bleed the whole system using it, for which some use a bulb pump as used with external outboard tanks. Saves turning the engine over to operate the lift pump.
