What is this Volvo engine?

Anybody know what this 2 cylinder 4 stroke engine is, only markings are volvo penta on the casing of the epicyclic gearbox. Cost 99p on ebay and needs a few new bits but the children did manage to unsieze it! Many Thanks.

Not sure, the closest I can find is a Volvo Penta C5...

Click HERE , circa 1965, available with or without reversing gear. Also available as a paraffin burner.

Hi Yoda, should have looked at who posted the question. Try looking in the Volvo dealer in QAB. The engine they have on display looks very similar!

Looks very smilar to an Albin with a Volvo gearbox though whether such a thing existed, I know not

albin o-11 marketed by volvo as c5 and also by ailsa craig

Maybe an Albin O21, it looks a bit bigger than the one cylinder C5. These engines were very popular in Sweden, and a few of the boats I looked at still had them going strong (well, going anyway)

If it is one of the Albins, I remember coming across a sight that sold almost any part you could possibly wish for, cant remember where though.

I think the Albin Vega yachts came originally with Albin engines. Try contacting the owners association for info on parts.
