came on the hard in our boatyard last week.
didn't get a chance to chat the owners (only stayed a couple of days and left)
Haven't seen anything similar (in our area anyway) so interested to know what it is.
Largish (55ft??) sd (i guess) twin screw thing, aft cabin

JFM or MM will probably know, but it looks to me like an Italian job from a few years ago.

thanks for the ideas guys,

could go for Dutch as well, but mike, it's plastic fantastic, not steel (I'll go knocking on the hull later on today to be sure...)

cheers

yes, talking bull as usual!

I thought the flat transom was a giveaway that the boat was made of steel. Producing curved surfaces in steel is more expensive than grp

There are curves all over that hull, the transom is about the only flat panel. The interior is to die for, he's a joiner! It was built in a Wigan mill by the owner, his first boat building effort, really nice chap when you meet him. The plans were highly modified by the builder.

Correct but the transom is the giveaway. I seem to remember that this boat was featured in MBM/MBY many years ago? Wasn't it supposed to be the start of series production?

wow,

you guys know a lot :D

bigwow, this pic gives it away, very peculiar aft deck layout with these twin doors:

I hope I'll meet the guy when he's back (in spring I guess) to pick her up!

No it's a one off finished in 2009

OK I bow to your greater knowledge on this but I'm pretty sure there was a steel boat produced some years ago in the north of England and which was given publicity in the mags on the basis that it was going to be the first of many. Of course it sunk without trace (not literally I hope)
