Brooms ventilate and use a breather membrane. Never had any dampness even during the winter.

We had Ventair built into the underneath of the bunk cushions. Seems to work fine, and less hassle than a separate layer. It also gave the upholsterer the task of fitting to the slightly odd shapes needed.

The best solution is a card board box , remove staples/tape cut to shape and lay it under the mattress.
100% effective.

Now you need to order a few big items like dinghies, coffee makers, generators so you can get some cardboard /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This is available from Ikea and cheap compared with the boaty version! it really gives a comfortable berth and no condensation!

Cheap foam backed carpet does the job perfectly.
20 years and no condensation should prove the point!

Carpet tiles work a treat and easier to lay/handle than carpet.
