in recent months more and more boats, mostly mobos are sporting strings of fairy lights, sometimes outside sometime inside. We currently have a visitor nearby in a nice prestige 36 with a string entirely around inside. Are these a kind of night lighting to avoid stubbed toes or some kind of signal or even a new kind of bug deterrent? o_O

I fear I may be coming round to them. I've always had soft white lamps in the arch but they destroy night vision and some of the beautiful views at night seen from anchor if inside a canopy or salon. Strip LED's with a soft light give you enough to see by without impeding the views in a light bubble. So yeah, christmas tree looks with a party feel and you're not restricting your eyes and view. What's not to like?

strip lights I can understand but these are long strings of tiny xmas tree lights strung all around inside the main cabin (maybe more not visible).

Ah. well you got me there. If it's accompanied with Christmas shopping albums start up the genny.

Au contraire. Bugs are attracted to lights so the more MAFI‘s that have them, the better for us WAFI’s. ?
