What is Soltron? (serious)

I keep coming across it on the forums. It seems to be a source of some great humour but underneath all that it seems that it is some sort of real product that people rate.

What is it, what does it do and why does it occupy so much comment here?

Martin, much debate mate. I prefer my Soltron with Ice and Coca Cola. Some people prefer a dash of water, others say it is a sin to add anything and drink it neat. It is all a matter of taste.
