It does look very much like a Hillyard. Another builder who produced similar looking small yachts was Elkins of Christchurch, although many of the Elkins boats had centre plates rather than the wine glass shape on yours.

She looks very much like a Johnson & Jago 2.5 tonner I once had, but she was only 18ft.
Designed by R E Freeman in the 1930s. However many boats of a certain vintage looked similiar.
I suppose the shape was determined by the materials available as much as the "normal" style of the day.
 
Is this a possibility then? (Only clutching at straws coz I know little about old saily boats)

Venture (ex Bengorm) - Aux Slp - 2.30 tons, 22.4' x 7.8' x 3.7' built by W. King & Sons of Burnham-on-Crouch in 1931 and designed by H.C. Smith.
 
Could very well be..there is no 'Off No ' on the boat that i can see..

Where did you get this info ?

It would be great to get some history !
