What is it about Contessa 28\'s?

I am having difficulty finding any information about Contessa 28's - why is this? Are they the black sheep of the family?

There was a multi-page 2nd Look type review of the Co28 in a UK yachting magazine about 2 to 3 years ago.

Found a little bit here. They morphed into the MGC27 and are quite a different design from the original Contessa 26 and 32.

I forgot to say it looked more like a scaled down Sigma 33 than a Co26 or Co32.

The MGC27 looks nothing like the Contessa 28! either externally or internally. The C28 has a masthead rig for starters and the interior is more convential in having a saloon, heads then forecabin. Also I'm sure they are heavier than the MGC27. Good seaboats - I'm going to Calais as crew in one on Friday.......... You probably can't find much about them because they only built a few.
See here for one For Sale:- http://www.boats-for-sale.com/fullspec.a...;videoFilename=
The Contessa 27 replaced the Contessa 28 and then the C27 was taken over by MG yachts as the MGC27.
Different boats.

If you are looking for that sort of classic - I see there is a Trintella 29 in YM ads, this month - nicer boat.

Contessa 28 was a Doug Peterson design and although not a racing boat was of the IOR type. If memory serves there was some story about floors needing strenghtened on a few but I don't think that there were really any serious problems.
As already said, Contessa 27 was a completely different boat that replaced the 28. It was a design by Rob Humphries which became MGC27 after Contessa went broke. I have just got one of these this season and am very pleased indeed with it.
