It was anounced back in November that it would be launched in January. Although it did not mention a date one article mentioned during the Excel boatshow (although it is not at the boatshow!)

Anyone know what is going on?

Cheers

Yup I just looked at the pr release, still on their website. Launch was said to be at Design Museum, with a boat moored at Butlers Wharf (south side or River Thames, close to Tower Bridge, for non London readers), in Jan 2009. So they have a couple of weeks left still. But you'd think they'd want to coincide timingwise with LIBS at least, to catch visitors to that show, so it's slightly suprising there is no Aura news

I'd replace "slightly surprising" with "absolute bonkers". Lots of Euro buyers over to look at cheap British boats, and Sealine have their newest, biggest, offering a stone's throw away, and no-one knows about it /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Yup, you're right. I wonder if Conran and co haven't seen eye to eye with Sealine on the T60 makeover project. Conran wouldn't want to be named as desigbers of something they're not happy with so might have insisted this and that be changed, and Sealine might have resisted, hence argument? Conran might have realised by now what was written on this forum at the time re the T60, which is that you can't polish a turd.

All speculation on my part, no hard info, they could be getting along fine, too

I am going on Friday 16th to the customer day at the Design Museum. I got my invite through the guys at Sealine South Coast so worth calling them if you are interested.

Ah, thanks, so it is all on schedule. Just hardly anyone seems to know about it! Strange that there's nothing on the website, and no Aura pics

I was looking at the T50 and T60 at Sibs as Live aboards for Gib, and got a good follow up call. When I heard about the Aura project I was interested. Seems nobody wanted me to see it! Never mind, I can not afford one now anyway with the Crunch and all that....but poor communication! Unless of course it is aweful!!

Cheers

Got my invite for Friday at the design museum too.

The invite has 'Studio Conran' in bold in the first paragraph so there doesn't seem to be a problem there.

Perhaps Friday is the day when all the publicity will be launched and they are keeping their powder dry until then.

Always thought the T50 T60 superstructure looked to big, radar wrong way, walkways narrow.
What they need is make the T50/60 5 feet longer with the same top!

Cheers mate, Yes I like my T60, and personally I dont think my radar arch is facing the wrong way around. Infact, I like my radar arch facing forward. Genuine reasons being it is an excellent brace for the bimini, radar is not beaming my brain, speakers and deck lights are above and also you do get some protection from the sun. Had the same arch on my previous T50 and worked very well facing forward.

All seem valid points in favour of forward facing arch there Splosh.
Looks no worse than Fairline awfull vertical radar stand on their 58, and its more practical.

Come to think of it no no one has winged about fwd facing arches on sports cruisers like portofino martinigue doral etc.

On SC's I guess its supposed to aid the protracted process of clipping the tent on, also I imagine the radar position is less likely to beam onto your brain. All that said why no condemnation?

on SL it looks ok the radar arch but there some great designs with forward facing radar arch like Fer 830s

the central pole of the Sq 58 I like, but then I admit not liking it much on the decesed 52 and 62 Sq

Hi Nautorius,

We'll be running a news story about the boat in the next issue, but will see about getting some photos online in the meantime.

Have just been looking round the boat and will post some photos shortly. The interior has been completely redone and looks much more contemporary and expensive without adding a huge amount to the cost of the boat. Lots of natural oak, white leather, mirrors and a more open plan layout give it a much lighter, airier feel. It won't be to everyone's taste but it puts them right back on the design map. Hugo
