What is going on at the bottom of the Colne?

That tug was with a barge in the Wallet dropping rocks to protect the windfarm cables last year. It, and the barge, were there again last week when we sailed past, possibly doing the same, it was hard to see. I don't know what it might be doing in the Colne - maybe sheltering from high winds ( if it's as windy as it is here in IJsselmeer- gusting 40ish kts!) or is it balmy and calm back there?

I saw it going right up the Blackwater yesterday, at least as far a stone, and I would not have thought it would have gone that far for shelter, so I wonder what it did go that far for. However, as it was so windy and if they are sheltering, I can't help wondering why they did not stay up the Blackwater

That's exactly what they're doing, gusting 33 knots at Brightlingsea this afternoon.
