I mean:

if you stand at the pointy end of the floaty thing (and have pulpit mounted lights), you will see green and red.

Say you are 40 feet away from the lights, how far left do you have to walk until you no longer see red and only green?

Do you see what I'm asking? I can still see a bit of red when I move quite a way to the left and was wondering.

I've searched RYA etc for the rules but just keep getting the 122.5 degrees and so forth.
Thanks

In theory you should only see red and green from dead ahead so the answel is not very far. In practice a few degrees.

Mind you if you are walking you are either someone very special or are getting wet feet!

I believe you are allowed 5 degrees of overlap between lights. Starboard and port lights, as well as side lights to stern light.
I don't know where this is documented, but it's what I was taught.

Thank you.

I have that bit of plastic dividing, but something obviously isn't quite right, but it is fixable.

Cheers
