But then again I am not looking at it from a rules of the road perspective, but rather the rules of the 'Blackwater racing' method of sailing.

And everybody was calm. It's all a matter of timing. Since the timing was right, no risk of collision existed and therefore the rules were not needed. Old gaffers uknow!

That's just what happened. But the gap was not much more than a boat length!
