My boat has a Mercruiser 5.0mpi with its stern drive and assisted power steering cable operated.

The manual states to use:
a grease '2-4-C grease with Teflon' for the actual steering cable and Hinge pin. (92-802859A1)
a grease 'Special Lubricant 101' for the cable when extended. (92-802865A1)
a grease 'Engine coupler spline grease'. (92-802869A1)
a grease 'U-joint and Gimbal bearing grease'. (92-802870A1)

All have different descriptions of purposes and makeup etc.. I thought of a Marine trailer wheel bearing type grease to cover them all ??.

Anyone use's one grease to cover the above points or more .

thanks

No, they are as you say all formulated to cope with different stresses produced in their aplications, spline grease would not cope with what a cable needs and the 2-4-C and 101 would have no chance against the compressive forces present in the drive splines.
