Andy - On Sunday morning (when we were rafted) when you were lying in your bed I was running a Honda EU20i from the fly-bridge, and it's my guess you never heard it. I used the Honda rather than the on-board genny simply because you would have been miffed if I'd have fired up the on-board "old thumper". I was conscious of the fact that noise is always an issue, and particularly so on a Sunday morning.
Having said that you probably didn't hear it that was because the coffee machine is only 1260w and doesn't demand power continuously. If I'd have switched the water heater on, you'd have definitely heard it. What i'm saying is, don't be fooled into thinking that the Honda genny is "silent" as it purports - it isn't when near it's maximum load.
....... and what were you doing till that time on Sunday morning anyway?!![]()
Having a well deserved lye in lol, never heard the genny at all so top marks for quietness.
TBH we only really need to run the genny for short periods of time i.e. boiling the kettle and heating the water for showers etc so noise is not the biggest consideration.
Was really nice to make the trip to Salcombe with the 2 of you, we had the quickest return journey to Brixham that I can recall @ just over an hour from slipping the swing mooring to tying up in Brixham, the only downer was having to come home on Sunday so we've decided to stay Sunday night this weekend
