What flag to fly if Scotland becomes independent?

But also if you race and have a registered boat, should you have GBR on the sail? (The saltaire red ensign looks awful!)

So let's have everyone reregister thier boats...
GBR
ENG
SCO
CYM
NIR
COR (Cornish!)

Forget it, it will never happen..

Agreed, the Saltaire on a red ensign looks terrible; presumaby the thought is that in the future someone can prove their superiority but flying a blue version.

Isn't that a bit like the flag they fly outside gay pubs

Well as my boat is registered in Glasgow I fly the saltire-despite being a Yorkshireman living in Scotland who will be voting no at the referendum despite having in the past supporting the nationalist cause.
Sadly Edinburgh has shown itself to be no better if not worse than Westminster in its exploitation and abuse of the Highlands.

Jeez! So this is a sailor's forum discussing the gayness of Scots and people who fly flags? I couldn't have made that up :apathy::biggrin-new::apathy::

That someone bothers to fly a flag says more about them than what colour flag they fly.
I have to slightly dispute that, if you wore the british ensign and you visited Scotland or Italy, Greece etc would it not be considered polite to fly the visited countries flag from the starboard crosstrees, personaly I would have said yes, as a matter of respect>

It'll never happen so don't lose sleep over it!

I sincerely hope you are right! I am certainly voting "NO". I also voted against having a Scottish parliament in the first place, and if a few others had had the good sense to do the same, we wouldn't be having this discussion.
