Re: attn GW re tripleace

The sunseekers have some whacky writing along the side, sometimes in purple, or yellow or both. Dunno what it says most times, perhaps Arse! or one said Caramba!

Re: size in UK, and tripleace

I have heard bout this too. We had no problem with a 48 on the UK south coast. For the whole three years I made sure to say that we were novice crew which I suppose wasn't strictyly after the 93rd time into Yarmouth. Can't really comment on whether it was "too big" as er it was the first boat we'd owned, and seems quite small now when we see them. There really does seem to be massive scaredom at the idea of driving/parking larger boats but having driven the T48, 23m is dead easy peasy and goes exactly where you want with far less sensitivity to the wind.

Note also that (as we've discovered) larger boats are a whole heap more comfy at anchor.

A big issue will be whether you fancy flybridge with more internal space and no zippering of biminis every night with swanky saloon for rainy days but dodgy ladders ...or sexier looking sports cruisers which are better party boats - and easier shorthanded i think.

Incidentally, I would have though we'd have more problems with a 75 footer in the med, but there's always a space (cept in St trop where u need to book 6 months ahead for august), and of course lots of marina staff wizz over to help. In Brighton Marina they were wetting themselves at theprospect of a 25metre boat, tho of course they have the space. But at the other end of the scale, we went into Looe at high tide in 48 and the HM put his cap on, no problem with a space whatsoever. Haven't been to UK in a 23m yet but I might do next year.

Re: size in UK, and tripleace

What do you mean, more comfy at anchor? Less roly-poly, or just the space..
and if you're trying the UK next year would that be by the canals then?

Re: med- UK

less roly poly and lurchy.

No, not by canals - think boat needs to be quite nanky to ignore the thumping from big barges. It will also do in the turbos. Also, the air draught is too much, so that's that. It would be the 2000 miles long way, if we came ....

Less rolly-polly indeed!

Wuss. What's wrong with you, man? We spent a very peaceful night on the pick in Studland last Saturday night, particularly when the wind swung round to an easterly, and picked up to a 4-5.

Re: wuss?

PS lock? Hah, I spit on your PS lock! We're die hard Christchurch mud dredgers. I just want something with jet drives. Or maybe a hovercraft...

No problemo.

My Holiday sleeps 6 (six) yup 6....
