Anyone know how much a Fisher 25 weighs? - for purposes of arranging craneage

Displacement is quoted at 4500kg - but I don't think this eqautes to the actual weight?

Many thanks

that will be the original mass, but is likely to have another tonne or so of fuel, sails, saucepans, etc on board.

If displacement is not the actual mass, then you must be sailing in a parallel space-time continuum with a different set of physical rules.

Lovely boat BTW, very envious.

Actual weight is equal to the displacement. When the boat floats the weight of water displaced is equal to the weight of the boat.

Elementary science ....... Archimedes principle and all that stuff you learnt when you were about 12 or 13.

Trouble is its based on the basic boat with no added gear so add quite a bit to the figure you have to allow for all of that. Allow a total of at least 5,000 kg

( FWIW 10,080 lbs is the figure I have ... thats a bit more than your figure)

My boat has a quoted displacement of 3.2 Tonnes. In cruising trim it weighs in at 3.9 Tonnes according to the load cell on the crane. So I would quote about 5.5 Tonnes for the Fisher which should give you a bit of leeway.
