Following the negative waves from Nostro, I thought I'd return equilibrium to the forum....

I love the way I can trust our boat to look after us, she'll take what ever the weather will throw at us and look after us. She is pretty - well was until I stuck a load of stuff off the back. Cosy - lots of varnished wood work below which glows in the light of an oil lamp. She sails like a dream.

So what do you love about your boat?

I love the way I can trust our boat to look after us, she'll take what ever the weather will throw at us and look after us - lots of polished wood work below which glows in the light of cool light L.E.D. ;) In addition she is comfortable down below, plenty of room and a cockpit big enough that I can lay fully stretched out for my afternoon nap

She is big and safe; when the wind blows she behaves herself and never shows any temptation to broach.
The fantastically comfortable mattress we treated ourselves to a couple of years ago.
The fully battened main and stack pack.

Plus all the home comforts of h&c water, showers, fridge & freezer, central heating ... (No more hair shirt sailing!)

No Marine Mortgage!!!

So it wasn't just me then thinking whats with all the Donald Southerlands then lol

Unfortunately you've summed up my boat as well as yours but then they are not dissimilar in design and execution.

This is my fourth boat and the only one I really enjoy sailing in and around the English Channel in all its moods. And I am a total woody/teak snob

I loved my Code 5. The "Happy Sail". Because every time it came out of the bag, we were going to go fast.

And I loved Britney, the autopilot (Britney Steers).

I love that she can do 8.4 knots over the water close hauled.
BTW "flaming", I am that white dot in front of you!

Beside I tried to hold exactly the same speed with my car and I got a little depressed.

Could not have put it better myself.
We need to look into a new mattress though :o

I am waiting for Searush to say how much he likes his underwater lighting.

I love the shape of her hull when viewed from land just aft of the quarter. She has a low stern, sweeping up to a high bow, with a curve out to the beam and back in towards the bow at just the right proportions.

I like the centre cockpit and aft cabin. The centre cockpit coming is low and doesn't look high or obtrusive to the flow of her lines. The aft cabin has full standing head room and a suitable passage to the saloon.

I don't like the fact that she is a lot more worn out than I appreciated at the time of purchase. I could do without the additional work.

I have sailed her in heavy weather and she has dealt with it effortlessly, that's good. I don't like the engine or propellor; the engine is the larger option and is too big really, the propellor is over propped. I wish I had smaller fuel tanks as they are far too large for the type of leisure sailing I do these days.

She is a great party boat.
