what do you keep on board in case of emergencies?

assorted shackles

Out of date flares

Oh, I give up, there must be another truck load of stuff I can't remember. No wonder she sits a bit low on her marks.

Dont take the out of date flares if your going to france. You will end up with a fine that will no doubt be more than if you just bought spare in date flares!

France? Isn't that one o' them funny furrin places then? You won't catch me going there - I would have to register or have a passport or summat. Anyway, France would be a 3-4 day passage for me. I'm the wrong side of the Lizzard & two days up the Welsh Coast. The Cymraeg are furrin enough for me. I have done Ireland tho' they have Guinness & Murphy's.

Drinking water separate from normal tank
(we have a dozen 5 litre bottles of mineral water).

E.g. in case your god son empties the whole tank when taking a shower on passage.

Also consider what happens in event of a serious electrical fault - we had a problem where we could not recharge the batteries at all (neither from the engine, nor from shore power). Some people are a little too dependent on chart plotters or computers etc.

As above but also nappies and wet wipes. Beer , wine, epirb, survival clothing, diving kit, spare fuel, spare fully charged battery.
