Ignoring the contents of the envelope, I know from experience that the PO doesn't regard a Recorded Delivery as lost until after 17 days non- receipt!! So an investigation wouldn't have commenced before 7 November, at best .

Dear Fatipa,
The problem with sending cash is that not all employees of Royal Mail are as reliable and trustworthy as they had to be when employees of the GPO. There was once a time when a dishonesty conviction meant instant dismissal for civil servants.

Nowadays, a prison term will not necessarily bar you from a job as a Postman or even a Policeman! I refuse to comment on whether this is a good thing or a bad one as it entirely depends on your point of view and the specific circumstances.

Part of what I do includes helping people recover from a potentially life destroying mistake.

Suggesting that both parties should collude in making a fraudulent claim from Royal Mail qualifies as being a "dodgy customer"to me.

a fellow forumite & MoBoer to boot sent me a high value item wasnt worried about payment first. likewise i would do the same. its all about trust here init /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Yes, it is all about trust. However - given that there'll always be the odd scallywag in any environment - it strikes me as strange that ybw.com hasn't set up a basic payment system like PayPal. Its called 'adding functionality' and - if the creaking structure can sustain it - would be to their benefit anyway.

OK everybody - let's draw a line under this.

I have heard from person concerned. I apologise to him that he felt threatened by my "Thugs" comment which was meant as a joke. I really dislike the idea of bullying.

Money is on its way. If any of you have worked it out then you should NOT blacklist this person.

This has been an instructive thread on how to do business (or not) on the forum.
