My 11 foot With is called Faith. I`ve had her a long time, been down walney channel and around the island more times than any other boat I've ever owned and she's always brought me home, no matter what stupidity I got up too.
Terry Absalom, who sadly passed away this year, used to have a beautiful (32ft?) Buchanan called Curtsy, with a tender called Bob. “Why Bob?” asked I. “What’s a little Curtsy?” he replied.
We bought a second hand Tinker Tramp called “Little Knot” which had been tender to a Bowman 40 called “Second String”. We liked the name so much we loosely followed the theme through our other tenders, calling the rigid one “Short Strop”, and the Avon “Time Warp".
I know someone on the Deben with "Clannad" and tender "Enya".
On Nancy Blackett the Avon is called "L'Imp" - very witty. (When she was "The Goblin" in Ransome's "We didn't Mean to Go to Sea", Jim Brading's tender was "The Imp".) To date I'm pleased to say the Avon has had no problem maintaining pressure.
