My daughter wants one for her adventure playground.

You know the thing I mean, stretch a rope or wire between a high and low point, attach a handle to a pulley and JERONIMO!!!

The kits sold for kids are generally called aerial runways or some such.

I knew it was a nautical term, but it got no further than the tip of my tongue.

I think ship to ship was done by dragging the contents across with aux. lines rather than by gravity.

I believe the navy term it a "Jackstay" transfer when they are doing a "RAS" (replenishment at sea)
