What do these Chart Symbols Represent?

Browsing a chart of the west coast of Skye, I came across the symbols circled in the picture below. They look like two capital E facing each other and rotated by 90degrees. I’ve not seen them before, cannot find a key to them and wonder what they mean?

Marine Farm. See box (Pj) on attachment below, which is from page 21 from my 1984 edition of Admiralty Chart Symbols and abbreviations 5011.

Rule of thumb - if you cannot identify, don't go there!;)
 
I think the absence of a fish means that it is a fish farm area marked with stakes, rather than the more obvious fish farms that many of us will have seen.... I might be wrong (often am!) but that seems to a faint recollection i've dragged up from somewhere in the deepest recesses of my mind
 
All that is missing is the FISH!

If you look at the scan of the Admiralty publication which I posted earlier, you will see that there are two examples of the symbol for Marine Farm printed. One with a fish, and another without, exactly the same as the ones on the OP's chart.
