Signs were bad last year cause Red Ken didnt want people using their cars. Stupid idjit didnt think that decent signposting to the park n rides might have helped!

"What did I think of last years Excel Boat Show ?" I thought it was awful, completely lacking in atmosphere. I'm not going again.

Agreed. I won't be going. It's not an "event" like it was at Earls Court, more like a trade show in a warehouse. I reckon visitor numbers will decline until it's back at Earls Court again in a few years time.

Perhaps it should be renamed as an Boat Exhibition, not a Boat Show.

The entertainment side and atmosphere is lacking but the exhibitors appeared to be happier.

If you had ever tried to help a client/prospective purchaser in Earls Court while the performances were on and your stand was anywhere near the centre of Earls Court 1 you would understand.

Top tip if heading from South is to park in the £5 car park at North Greenwich tube and take the Jubilee Line 1 stop to Canning Town and then the DLR a couple of stops to Excel (takes about 15mins from parking the car). Make sure you've got the £5 in coins as the machines don't take notes.

To get to Nth Greenwich tube, come off M25 at Jctn2, head into London on the A2 (watch vicious speed cameras in 50 limit), and just before Blackwall tunnel filter off to 'Greenwich Peninsula'. You can't miss it - its the tube station and car park built for the Millenium Dome.

I enjoyed last year's show greatly: Plenty of parking; clear layout to the exhibition; edible food and drinkable coffee available (at London prices); elbow room in the Guinness bar; and a good selection of outside exhibits including Kingfisher (Open 60) and STS "Prince William". I'm not nostalgic for Earls' Court.

If you've got as far as Nth. Greenwich, then IMO you might as well go the whole way; the park and ride at Excel was a fiver too...
