What company would you buy your sails from?

I think the local dimension is priceless. Over the past decade I have bought a total of eight sails from Chris Scanes of Sails & Canvas in Topsham (Devon) and he has performed repairs on several more.

The quality of his work is outstanding, and he is always happy to visit the boat to advise on sail cut and setting.

Jeckells get 2 big thumbs up from me. My new Sadler sails set beautifully and this is the best my boat has ever driven. They seem to have knowledge at every part of the manufacturing process and all sails they make are made in their sail loft in Wroxham. I learnt a lot when I visited the loft and I would recommend them to anyone

I have been told that Chris Scanes has now retired. Shame because I was thinking of going to him.

Chris is certainly thinking of packing it in, but my understanding is that he's still working full time for the moment, and will continue to work part-time after he "retires".
