What colour is yours?

Mine is obviously old-fashioned as it's horizontal stripes. Bit like wearing a velvet tux.

This was my 1st attempt, and was single-handed.

For all those admiring Full Circle's chute, here is a much smaller version on our previous boat, Second Chance.....
Lynn and I had a wine fuelled design competition with 25 or so photocopies of the blank panel layout and a Bumper Coulouring Pen Set.
We liked it so much, we repeated the design for Full Circle.
If you ever see the two together, it will be in the River Crouch, because Second Chance is at Fambridge these days.

Reply to Clive, but also to LS as well.

What's the reason for dropping the main when running with the spinnaker?

I remember some Wayfarer guys recommending that as a strong wind configuration, with reduced broaching risk, but I always liked the ability to collapse the spinnaker behind the main.

I was not on board at the time.
My son and 2 of his mates were sailing her.
Not a lot of wind and she was rolling about.
Main stowed to to stop it banging about.
No real difference in speed.

At the time of the second photo we had the main up and were going for it! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Look at the pic. I'd never put the main up. I motored up the lake and raised the spinnaker to sail down wind back down the lake. If you read what I said it was the first time I'd used a spinnaker and I was single-handed. So I limited the chances of anything going amiss.
