Used to own one. Good little boat. It is a bit cramped in there and rear berth is a bit like a coffin. Sails like a big dinghy. Very good in light winds but unless you have 4 big blokes on board you will be on the second reef at 20kn. Good weekender in sheltered waters. It is a Polish lake sailer after all.

There was a French bilgekeeler of the 90s that was remarkably similar , called a BeLoop or something . TransAtlantic grade construction, in sensible hands.

As polish lake sailer it have to be big to accommodate 5 people ;) Lot of designs are more like campers than sailboats - it does not necessarily prevent them from being seaworthy and fast. Smallest yacht that did non-stop circumnavigation is modified lake sailor: Maxus 22 |
Although they are not always the best in choppy conditions or strong winds.

I think in a small boat the « lit Breton » (the v berth being open to the saloon) has a lot to recommend it, as it greatly adds to the feeling of space.

Delivery trip to the UK, be more ambitious! :)

L'Envol is half way round the world, with a young couple aboard. She has an outboard.

sy L’Envol

She has done the Atlantic, Patagonia, Pacific and is heading north up Australia's east coast - possible looking to head for the Philippines. Covid restrictions have made original plans impossible.

My connection - I arranged for their new anchor chain and regalvanising of their Spade anchor.

I think you would call her a bilge keeler.
