I was reminded of this legendary piece of athleticism while reading "This Thing of Darkness" by Harry Thompson. Although there have been many mentions of this book on this forum over the years I have not seen a reference to a rather unexpected sex scene. It is described as taking place in a hammock, which was a standard berth on the Beagle. But I gather there would not have been enough headroom for standing up...
