I bought a B&G masthead unit at the Irvine boat jumble on Sunday, on the off chance that it might provide spare for mine if I ever need them - I have an old Hornet 4 sailing monitor. Back home, I have been having a poke around the internet to find out what I have, and whether it's what I need.
The new masthead unit looks just like a Type 213 as shown on the B&G guide at http://www.bandgservice.co.uk/documents/ProductIDGuidev2.10.pdf, which is what the Hornet 4 uses. Hooray. However, according to the guide, the Type 213 is part number 213-00-02. The only identification I can see on what I bought is the serial number 810-38-39
which doesn't match any B&G part numbers I can find. It's on the spar/housing assembly, the part number for which is 213-10-003. Does anyone know what I've bought? If it's the right thing I'll test it and, if it's OK, keep it as a spare. If it's dud I'll strip it for spares and if it's the wrong thing altogether ("if it's the wrong thing") I'll use it as an amusing back scratcher.
