Pic taken in Eratini Greece 2002. One morning the whole harbour was full. They form chains ten and more yards long, although they are separate life forms. Fishing boats had to stay in the harbour, there cooling system would have been blocked. Fisher called them “ The eye of the sea”
Twelve winters in Turkey, never seen one.
Back in Greece and there they are, solo this time, no chains seen. About four inches long, pulsing.
Must be some sort of Tunicate, Which?

Sorry, no more pics, Attachments full. what to do best ?

Have eaten some of there family. In Marseillan, France I bought some “ Violets” The women selling them to me showed me how to eat them. They are horrible. Like to try everything, that was once in a lifetime.
Most other sea creatures have to watch out when I am around, Violets are safe. Talking food here.:D
