Hi

I am in the process of purchasing this boat and notice these chrome coloured holders on the bathing platform but do not know what they are for, they are either side of the locker hatch and look like flag pole mounts but I am sure they have another use.

Thanks for any help

Are they possibly rod holders or spaces to mount removable ski poles? Are they straight down or angled? Rod holders are usually angled. Maybe mounting plates for a removable table? Can you picture them up closer?

They are straight down, i did wonder if it was for a dinghy bracket that just drops in but cannot find one, unfortunately I am not near the boat to take a better photo.

I assume the passarelle can be used as a crane for a dinghy or a rib, possibly to hold the V brackets to support the keel line at the front and a bracket to hold the hull at the rear.

Theyre not rod holders. They are for dinghy chocks.
The boat has previously carried a dinghy there- see the 4 attachment points for the tie down straps.

Look really like rod holders.....not sure why someone would fit them on such a lovely boat though. Must have really loved fishing.

Definitely not dinghy chocks as they have 2 sockets for each chock have seen loads of them.
i don't doubt you have and almost all have two per chock.
But when the dinghy is craned on you occasionally see single socket chocks, and when they are right beside a locker lid like these you occasionally see a single socket plus a s/s tongue on the bottom of the chock that slots into the locker lid gap to hold the chock in line.

To o/p, that's one long passerelle for the boat (which is perfectly ok if transom is very well reinforced on the hidden side) and the auto pop up handrail is missing.

I wonder if there's another/additional purpose ? Insert a removable stanchion into the socket each side of the hatch, with a line or light chain leading to the eye on the for'd end of the platform; could prevent people walking down the open hatch ?

No I don't think they are for chocks as the tongues as you propose would not be in alignment with the hatch aperture, I suppose they could take temp handrail as Sarabande suggests

What- to stop people falling into an 8 inch deep tray moulding? :)

What, and it wouldn't be possible to offset the tongue with a 25mm x 25mm or whatever offsetter piece? :)

H frame jet ski / tender holder .
The two holes connect width ways with like a H to support what ever .

You would not fish ,ie place a rod there ,it’s too dangerous ,wave backing up , or large sea creatures flying up and potentially knocking you off .
