What are these for on the boat ?

Hi All,

Can anyone identify the purpose of these two seperate items shown by the arrows, one on the left (two receptacles) has same on STBD side. The othe two are on an aft stanchion which houses an antenna ?

Dont reduce the pic size too so much.

I thought they might provide attachment points for the Ensign - a sort of a combined Jackstaff and antenna mount. Incidentally, if this is your main VHF aerial, your range would be significantly extended by fitting the antenna at the top of the mast, VHF only communicates by line of sght.

Is there a matching pair of sockets on the starboard side? If so, there may have been a gantry fitted at some point.

take them off. if she doesnt sink you didnt need them anyway

Not sure about the bottom sockets, the picture isn't very clear, but the top ones could be to fit short extensions to allow additional antenna to be fitted, GPS, Navtex etc.
