A grp motor boat kept in Limehouse, that goes out cruising both down and up river..

I'm thinking of using magnesium permanent anodes, with zinc hanging anodes when in brackish/ salt water.

Does this sound sensible?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Your probably going to need Mag for the marina and they will be ok in salt water if your only in it for a few days at a time, hanging Zinc's over the side won't save the mag though as the least noble metal will disappear first (mag) then start on the next and so on. Have you asked anybody else in the marina what they do? anodes are very dependant on exact location so what works in one place might be so good somewhere else so its difficult to give advice. Also if your on shorepower a galvanic isolator is good idea.
